Abracadabra

I'm a bit behind on posts, so  I wanted to make sure and get a song of the day in this morning.  Since it is almost Halloween, I thought "Abracadabra" by the Steve Miller Band would be perfect.  I remember when this song was released -- I was a very little girl.  Quite frankly, the video scared me, but in retrospect, it really is nothing to be afraid of today.  I doubt anyone would be frightened of the very simple yet astoundingly creative for the day imagery in the video.  It definitely gives us a peak into the styles of the 1980s and was a groundbreaking video in the time when MTV had only been on the air for a year.  The song itself is simple -- good bass line, steady drum beat, and very catchy lyrics for the chorus - "abra abra cadabra...I want to reach out and grab ya."  Breaking up "abracadabra" into three parts in the chorus gives it a boost for sure.  This song is number 4 on the Amazon MP3 Player II to the right.  Enjoy!
